What happens here

Every activity is for everyone. Our yoga and painting professionals are trained in intellectual disability, cerebral palsy and Asperger’s. Book at reception; included in stays of two nights or more.

Adapted yoga

In the forest clearing, or in the pavilion if it rains. Poses seated, on a mat or standing; everyone at their own pace.

A group doing yoga in a forest clearing at sunset: several people on mats and two in wheelchairs, arms raised towards the light coming through the oaks.

Sound therapy by the water

Bowls and bells by the pond at dusk. Felt through the body as well: designed with deaf guests in mind.

Aerial view of the estate at nightfall: the lit hotel among oaks, a pond with a small waterfall and a group of people sitting in a circle by the water, paths lit by low bollards.

Therapeutic painting

Watercolour and natural pigments with a professional specialised in autism and Asperger’s. Groups of six at most.

An outdoor painting table beneath the oaks with watercolours, brushes and paper; several people painting, one of them in a wheelchair.

Meditation under the oak

Twenty minutes of guided silence every morning under the great oak, before breakfast.

Several people sitting in a circle beneath an enormous oak, eyes closed, in golden early-morning light.

The Path of Silence

A two-metre-wide, firm, step-free path through the oak wood to the pond. Benches every fifty metres, low amber bollards and tactile signs.

A wheelchair user travels alone along a curved, pale gravel path among oaks towards the lit hotel in the background.

The wishing tree

An oak with a timber letterbox where every guest leaves a written wish. We read them all.

A large oak with a small timber letterbox at its foot, beside the path, with the hotel among the trees.
